Sorrel Namaste

Senior Manager, Nutrition Analysis and Research
Sorrel is a nutrition analysis and research expert with more than 15 years of experience supporting countries collecting high-quality population-based data.

Sorrel provides technical assistance for the implementation of household surveys. She has experience in international survey data collection and applied research, with specific expertise in nutritional assessment. Sorrel focuses on collecting and using data to strengthen the feedback loop between the scientific, policy, and implementation communities.

Previously, Sorrel served as the Anemia Team Lead for the United States Agency for International Development-funded Strengthening Partnerships, Results, and Innovations in Nutrition Globally project. In this capacity, she provided governments with technical assistance to develop national strategies and conducted implementation nutrition research. She also worked for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she was responsible for supporting large-scale global nutrition research projects. Sorrel also served as the NIH co-principal investigator on the Biomarkers Reflecting Inflammation and Nutrition Determinants of Anemia Project, supported the establishment of the Biomarkers of Nutrition for Development Program, and was the program manager for the Iron and Malaria Safety Project.
